Bio

Terry Hance is a seasoned attorney with deep roots in Northern Arizona. He was born and raised in Cottonwood and graduated with honors from Northern Arizona University in 1972. He earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University in 1975 and began his legal career as a Deputy City Attorney in Flagstaff. In 1977, he joined the Coconino County Attorney’s Office where he worked as a Deputy Coconino County Attorney. In 1992, he was elected as the Coconino County Attorney and served until 2008.

During his tenure, Terry also served as a Special Deputy U.S. Attorney and held roles on the executive boards of the Arizona Sheriff’s and County Attorney’s Association and the Arizona Prosecuting Attorney’s Advisory Council. He has also served on the boards of Goodwill of Northern Arizona and the Salvation Army of Northern Arizona.

Since 2009, Terry has worked in private practice. He has served as counsel for Arizona Victim’s Rights, Alternate Public Defender for Yavapai and Coconino Counties, Special Prosecutor for the Yavapai Apache Tribe, and is a Public Defender for the Hopi Tribe and a member of the Hopi Tribal Bar.
In his free time, Terry enjoys attending plays, reading novels, and honing his skills in photography.
